Kazakhstan eases quarantine measures for arrivals from abroad

According to a decree of Chief Sanitary Doctor Aizhan Yessmagambetova as of June 6, persons arriving in the Republic of Kazakhstan from overseas would have to be placed in a quarantine hospital for up to 2 days for conducting COVID-19 laboratory testing.

Persons who have arrived to Kazakhstan from abroad by flights and who have submitted negative COVID-19 examination certificate (issued no later than 5 days before the date of crossing the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan) are not subject to placing in a quarantine hospital for COVID-19 laboratory testing. Kazakhstan ranks second among CIS countries in MICE tourism development The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) published its annual statistics report, according to which Kazakhstan ranked second among CIS countires and 79 in the world.

“In recent years, MICE tourism became one of the priority areas of tourism sector in Kazakhstan. The Kazakh Tourism plans a number of systemic measures to improve the attractiveness of our country for events with the participation of international associations in order to further the development of this area and as one of the post-crisis strategies amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, the Kazakh Tourism plans to launch support programs, partnerships, as well as ‘Meet in Kazakhstan’ ambassadors, who will promote the hosting of MICE events in Kazakhstan,” said spokesperson of the Kazakh Tourism National Company Yernur Kenzhebekov. Read more on Kazakh TV
